
Kayak through the mangroves of Spruce Creek and be on the lookout for a variety of raptors, wading birds, and songbirds!
The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Environmental Specialist Tommy Nordmann on a paddle through the mangroves near Strickland Bay. Along the way, we'll discover native wading birds, raptors, songbirds, and shorebirds
**Important note: Please arrive 30 minutes prior to organize gear and complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program. You can download and complete a waiver ahead of time by visiting Explore Volusia.

ACTIVITY: A 2.5-hour moderate paddling trip. Difficulty will depend on wind and currents.
RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, your are not registered.
TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary.
AGES: Ages 10 and up are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
ATTIRE: Wear appropriate clothing for the outdoors and closed-toe shoes that can get wet.
WHAT TO BRING: Watercraft (kayak, canoe, or SUP), personal flotation device (must be worn while paddling), emergency whistle, water to drink, sunscreen, and bug spray
** Five, single sit-on-top kayaks (plus gear) are available at no cost. You can reserve one in the "add-ons" section under "tickets." You must have a general admission ticket for each person reserving a kayak. First come, first served!
FACILITIES: There are bathroom facilities on site.
