Young Birders Club Field trip to Lyonia Preserve

Leaders: Alex DeBear and Kathy Rigling of Orange Audubon and Eli Shaperow of West Volusia Audubon. Join us for an exploratory hike through Lyonia Preserve. Let’s take this opportunity to enjoy nature and the great outdoors! Explore the different plant and animal species that call scrub habitat their home. Florida Scrub Jays, Eastern Towhees, Brown Thrashers, Northern Cardinals, Blue-Gray Gnat-Catchers, Gray Catbirds, and others can often be seen or heard in the preserve. Participants should dress appropriately for the weather, bring water, wear closed-toed shoes, and be prepared to hike on unpaved, sugar sand trails. Binoculars and camera are optional but recommended. Limited to 25 participants. Loaner binoculars will be available upon request.
