City of Deland Memorial Day Ceremony

For over 100 years veterans and community have participated in a Memorial Day event in Bill Dreggors Park in DeLand, and the tradition will continue this Monday!
All area veterans and community members are invited to attend the ceremony that will be held in the Veterans Park and Gardens area of the facility at the Veterans Pavilion in Bill Dreggors Park located at 230 North Stone Street in DeLand.
During your visit please plan to see our Wall of Honor which lists all of the local heroes who have given their lives for us over the years, and the Veterans Memorial Wall featuring dozens of local veterans in a black granite format. And we will offer a free open house of all of our patriotic military collections in the DeLand Memorial Hospital & Veterans Museum right after the ceremony. And don’t forget our lovely Monarch Butterfly garden area while you are here if you have the time.
DeLand Mayor Chris Cloudman will participate and offer a few words of gratitude for our veterans, and Mayor Emeritus Robert F. Apgar will be the morning's keynote speaker.
This year’s event will be coordinated by the veterans of American Legion Adam Quinn Post 6 and of American Legion Orange Baker Post 187. The DeLand Fire Department’s Honor Guard will also be involved in the morning ceremony.
