Lyonia Environmental Center Educational Programs

Lyonia Environmental Center offers a unique insight into Volusia County’s fragile ecosystems. The center has interactive hands-on displays, computer modules and a 425-gallon saltwater aquarium.

There are ongoing educational programs and clubs for children and adults. Programs include art, STEM, photography and culinary experiences.

Clubs include:

Nature Neighbors
A monthly interactive program for preschoolers and early elementary-aged children which combines stories, hands-on activities, and nature exploration. Each session features a different theme that helps children build early literacy skills while discovering the natural world.

Volunteer Program
Youth volunteers are welcome to apply if they are at least 16 years old. Applicants who have not yet reached age 18 must have the written consent of a parent or guardian prior to volunteering. Volunteer work assigned to minors will comply with all appropriate safety and child labor law requirements.
