Unique Kids Blossom was created by me, Elizabeth Maltby, from both professional and lived experience. I believe every child can grow, learn, and thrive when they are understood, supported, and met exactly where they are. You can look at my DYSLEXIA reading and spelling tutoring services (5 years + up), as well as my early intervention/milestone support services (birth-5) on my website www.uniquekidsblossom.com. I am also a provider for the Step Up Scholarship programs.
CERTIFICATIONS:
I am a Certified Special Education Teacher (K-12) and Certified Elementary Education Teacher (K-8) with over 15 years of experience supporting children with diverse learning profiles. I am also an Infant Toddler Developmental Specialist (ITDS) with over 10 years of experience working in Early Intervention, supporting children from birth to age five, during their most critical stage of development.
MY APPROACH:
What truly sets my work apart is a transdisciplinary approach. Over the years, I have worked closely with other teachers and reading specialists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, physical therapists, behavior specialists, vision therapists, and medical professionals. Most importantly, I have partnered with hundreds of unique families, learning that meaningful progress happens best when families feel empowered, informed, and supported.
MY STORY:
My work is deeply personal. After many years teaching in public schools, my own children began facing significant school challenges. Eventually they were both diagnosed with ADHD and DYSLEXIA. We spent years navigating IEP meetings, accommodations, therapies, and multiple school changes. Eventually, our family made the difficult and risky decision to relocate closer to other family members and live, primarily on one income, so that I could homeschool our boys. During that time, I immersed myself in learning everything I could about their needs, including ADHD, Dyslexia and SENSORY INTEGRATION. What followed was a season of incredible growth for all of us! We truly blossomed as a homeschool family—learning together, exploring nature, traveling with my husband’s work, building confidence and independence. Today, both of my sons are thriving at a local university. We didn’t do everything perfectly, but we learned an incredible amount along the way—and I continue to learn every day through books, workshops, podcasts, and the amazing families that I work with! Blossom is an extension of this journey. It is where my professional training, personal experience, and passion for education come together. My goal is to help children build strong foundations and to support families with practical tools, compassionate guidance, and hope.
Every child deserves the chance to grow at their own pace—AND with the right support, THEY WILL BLOSSOM!
