Whether you are an Unschooling or Homeschooling family we hope you consider allowing the Homeschool programs at the MOAS to support your efforts. Our approach to a lesson is always to encourage interaction and team work among the participants. The students will enjoy the intermingling of humor and content as they make their way through a lesson. Lessons are typically very active, and the venue may change a few times during the same lesson. This is to utilize the many facilities that the Museum has to offer. Students are often given take home resources and suggestions for further information on the topic. These are great as the Homeschooler's portfolio builds all year long.

Other MOAS attractions include the Cuban Foundation Museum, which has an extensive collection of Cuban art; the Charles and Linda Children's Museum, which has new hands-on exhibits such as a laser harp and a tennis-ball shooter; the planetarium, which hosts laser shows and educational shows on astronomy and space exploration; and the Klancke Environmental Education Complex in the Tuscawilla nature preserve, where you can explore a 90-acre preserve of hydric hammock habitat, which is a special type of wet forest in coastal Florida.
