The Sands Academy

We are The Sands Academy!! A non-profit secular private school (what a unicorn!) that offers blended learning with inclusive education in mind. We strive to create an environment where students are able to learn at their pace and their level, while trying our best to meet their sensory needs and necessary accommodations for the neurodiverse learners and twice exceptional students in our classroom. We are not a special needs school; we are an inclusive school. That means we try our best to include everyone in a safe space.

Our education model is unique - students are in class part-time and follow a university influenced schedule. At home, they work with their families to complete a project-based lesson or virtual lesson to enforce skills taught in class, heightening the connection between the classroom and home. Students still receive credit for a full 180 calendar school year, despite being in class for only 10 hours a week.
