Sleepaway fishing camp for kids 9-15 at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida, from North Florida Fishing Camp, heading into its 8th season. Campers live Sunday to Friday in the JU dorms on the St. Johns River, eat in the dining hall, and go out on a charter boat every day with counselors and charter captains: 4-, 6- and 8-hour trips, including a full 8-hour offshore day. Back at the dock: species ID, slot limits, cleaning the catch, and fish biology and conservation. The week ends with a fish fry with the family on Friday.
Two weeks in summer 2027, 24 beds each: June 13-18 and June 20-25. $2,499; a $400 deposit holds the spot. Both weeks sold out last summer, and a deposit by December 15 locks in this year's price.
Included: all rods, reels, tackle, bait and ice; charter boats, captains and fuel every day; dorm housing and meals; camp shirt; daily photos and an evening recap in the parent account.
