The Giles Frontier K-8

The Giles Frontier K-8

Hello Everyone, I'm Holly Giles, The Giles Frontier. I am a veteran homeschool mom of boys, Florida Master Naturalist, speaker, and author to several books including homeschooling.
I wanted to share with you the curriculum resources I developed as a solution to my son who had special needs, but mostly could not sit still in a chair! He loved the outdoors and during his younger years, I created lessons based on using community resources, parks, nature centers, and living daily life. This became a 9 unit curriculum called Blaze New Trails.
The premise is that home education can come from our surroundings. Using resources in our community for hands on experiences (MDC and Charity Pyle Jackson), teaching history and literature from parks,, museums, and other venues.
Life skills are learned from parents having children come alongside them in the kitchen, chores, animal keeping, and more. Picking strawberries at a farm and using that experience for math, science, cooking, etc.
As a mom who faced many challenges through the years, this style of learning, which falls in the eclectic category, has served our family well for over 10 years. I love to serve moms with encouragement and guidance with their specific needs as well as offer many different options based on our curriculum.
Blaze New Trails is the perfect Florida option because the book can be used in any order and at any time of the year.

Our Youtube channel has over 100 free videos to expand the books with experiences and provide resources for you. https://youtu.be/iaEJIMGiLSg

My family and I are passionate about home education and helping families see the potential beyond textbooks.
