Lilian Place

Lilian Place

Tour the lovely historic Lilian Place, the oldest house on Daytona Beachside built in 1884. Read the books The Mystery of the Lost Book and Ghosts of Lilian Place, and then see the sites described in the books! Walk the riverfront nature walk and Ecotour. You might catch a glimpse of our friendly ghost Lucille.

Lilian Place is the oldest house on Daytona's beachside. This Italianate Victorian house was built in 1884 by one of the city's first settlers Laurence Thompson. Lilian Place sat abandoned and neglected until December of 2009, when the Trust was awarded a Volusia County ECHO Grant to acquire this significant site.

After years of community support, Lilian Place is now open to the public as a fully furnished museum filled with wonderful antiques, toys, and memorabilia. Walk the grounds of the Hotchkiss House next door which is presently being restored. This 1905 home was built by E. Hotchkiss who made his fortune by marketing the first stapler! On the riverfront you can see the old capstan which once was used to pull the ferries and boats into shore. This site is presently being restored into a cultural events site. Check our website or Lilian Place on facebook for monthly events and concerts.
