 /><br />The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Envi
 ronmental Specialist Tommy Nordmann for a paddling tour through the mangrov
 es to Piddler Island where we’ll enjoy a break on a nearby sandbar. Along t
 he way, participants will learn about the native wildlife that inhabits thi
 s estuarine ecosystem.<br /><br />**Important note: Please arrive 30 minute
 s prior to organize gear and complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed i
 n full to participate in the program. You can download and complete a waive
 r ahead of time by visiting Explore Volusia.<br /><br />** Some map apps an
 d GPS devices will take you to the incorrect location. Use the following li
 nk to direct you to Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve, Sleepy Hollow: 3201

 br />ACTIVITY: A 2.5-hour, 4-mile, moderate to difficult paddling trip. Dif
 ficulty will depend on wind and currents.<br /><br />** This trip is recomm
 ended for experienced paddlers only due to stronger currents and boat traff
 ic in the Ponce de Leon Cut.<br /><br />RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you 
 have a confirmation email, your are not registered.<br /><br />TICKETS: No 
 printed ticket is necessary.<br /><br />AGES: Ages 10 and up are welcome. C
 hildren must be accompanied by an adult.<br /><br />ATTIRE: Wear appropriat
 e clothing for the outdoors and closed-toe shoes that can get wet.<br /><br
  />WHAT TO BRING: Watercraft (kayak, canoe, or SUP), personal flotation dev
 ice (must be worn while paddling), emergency whistle, water to drink, sunsc
 reen, and bug spray
