Buckle in for a 2 hour trip back into pre-historic life on our planet! this introductory segment to paleontology covers everything from the first signs of life, through our oceans, and onto land with our dinosaurs, and through the ice age mammals that ruled early florida lands! this epic journey of evolution is paired with studying fossils, up close under a microscope, from my personal collection. Including teeth, bones, imprints and other stunning visuals!
During the second hour, kids get to participate in a science activity- disecting an Owl pellet! owls eat their prey whole, so each child is gurenteed to find a nearly complete skeleton of a small prey animal. students of all ages are able to study the discovered bones, and guess what animal they think they have, comparing the remiains to detailed diagrams. just like a paleontologist, or a zoooligist!
and finally they can match the bones in order, like building a display for a meuseum, and glue them into place to create a lasting keepsake for the future scientist to take home and display!
Class starts at 11am, and lasts for approx. 2 hours.
$20 a student, although bundle deals are available for multiple class bookings and families with multiple children.
