Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Math Grades 5-8

Our approach focuses on developing a true understanding of mathematics. Simply memorizing formulas and completing exercises without meaning does not foster comprehension. We use manipulatives and emphasize helping your child truly grasp what they are doing in math. For example, when dividing fractions, you multiply by the reciprocal—a straightforward procedure to memorize. However, understanding why this works leads to deeper mathematical comprehension.

Cost of Tutoring

  • $50/hr Private Live Tutoring
  • $30/hr each – Group of 2
  • $25/hr each – Group of 3​
  • $20/hr each – Group of 4​

As an incentive to schedule regular visits the sixth hour in a month is always free.

We've Been Where You Are

Many kids dislike math and often feel they are bad at it. We believe that everyone has the potential to succeed in math—and even learn to enjoy it (or at least not dread it). Our approach focuses on identifying each child’s strengths and building from there.

One of the biggest issues with math in many schools today is that students are expected to tackle geometry without knowing their multiplication tables or attempt algebra without a solid understanding of negative numbers. Falling behind in math makes it incredibly difficult and frustrating to catch up.

Who We Are

  • Dr McLoughlin is a state certified math teacher. He offers live math tutoring in New Smyrna Beach Florida in his office.
  • We have a Growth Minset Philosophy. That means we believe everyone can learn math. We focus on understanding through the use of manipulatives and take the boring out of math. No more boring worksheets and rote memorization!
  • While for some remote tutoring may be helpful, we feel in person tutoring brings true understanding so much quicker.
  • We support students with Dyscalculia and offer challenging learning extensions for gifted students.
  • For home-schoolers we are a vendor for Step Up for Student scholarships and work with any curriculum and have recommendations for those who are considering a change.

Our tutoring classes will provide the support and guidance needed to help you succeed and feel more confident in math!
